Samsung D880 First dual sim GSM phone
I had a chance to check out Samsung’s new Dual SIM mobiles and I have to say I can’t wait till they hit the shelves. Since I was in the vicinity I decided to do a quick run down to the Samsung booth and get an update and here are a few more phones.
The D880 is first up and this Dual SIM handset is capable of handling 2 GSM SIM cards in one device. It has a 2.2-inch QVGA display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. It comes equipped with a 3 megapixel camera, auto-focus naturally. Other features include an integrated FM radio, MP3 player and Bluetooth. It’s sleek and may look like any other Samsung phone but perfect for dual personalities, wouldn’t you say? It should be out in a month or so with a price tag of a bit over Rs. 15,000. No official information on those details yet though and according to the sources here, the phone may also be out with some more features when it’s officially released.
Next up in the Dual SIM section is the CDMA/GSM compatible N20. It’s a superb slider with a touch screen, Bluetooth, microSD memory expansion, FM radio and media player. The best part is it’ll work with any CDMA provider in the country and obviously the same goes for GSM. It also has a 2 megapixel camera. What I really liked is the interface for choosing which service you’d like. You simply dial a number and you have the option of choosing if it should go through CDMA or GSM.

Samsung YP-P2
The Samsung YP-P2 is a PMP device probably competing with the iPod or maybe the iPhone (without the phone ofcourse), but how many times have we heard this! The Samsung YP-P2 comes with a 480 x 272 pixel resolution 16:9 screen which is 3inches in measure. The device is pretty light at 80 odd grams and measures 100 x 52 x 9.9 mm
The player has a touch screen similar to the iPhone, but doesnt nearly work as well as the iPhone. Still its not miles away from it. The YP-P2 can play WMA, MPEG4, MP3, WMV and JPG along with Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless headphones which the iPod does not have!

Apple
Apple Inc. is in talks with major music companies to offer customers free access to its entire iTunes music library in exchange for paying a premium for its iPods and iPhones, the Financial Times reported.
Citing people familiar with the talks, the paper said the negotiations hinged on a dispute over the price Apple would be willing to pay for access to the labels' libraries.
One industry executive said research showed consumers would pay a premium of up to $100(Rs.4000) for unlimited access to music for the lifetime of a device, or a monthly fee of $7 to $8 (Rs.300-350 approx) for a subscription model.
Apple was not immediately available for comment.
